Australian pacer Mitchell Starc won several hearts when he decided to fly back to his nation amidst the ongoing One-Day International (ODI) series against South Africa to cheer for wife Alyssa Healy who is playing in the Women’s T20 World Cup and is ready to face India in the finals at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday.
The Proteas have already won the three-match ODI series and would be looking forward to whitewash the Aussies by defeating them in the final contest.
Starc’s heartfelt gesture received a warm response from fans across the world on social media. Even Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin reacted to Aussie paceman’s effort to support his wife.
The offie took to Twitter and gave his thumbs up to the Starc’s decision by terming it as refreshing.
“So refreshing to see this!! Well done,” the Indian spin sensation tweeted.

Australia head coach Justin Langer said the management is happy to allow Starc to leave the series, as it’s a ‘once in a lifetime chance’.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance for Mitch to watch Alyssa in a home World Cup final and so we were happy to allow him to return home to support his wife and be part of a fantastic occasion,” Langer had said on Friday.
